An ambulance was stolen in Colborne on Sunday.
Northumberland OPP say the vehicle was stolen late Sunday night while Emergency Medical Services were attending a residence on William Street.
The vehicle was found unoccupied a short time later in Colborne.
The OPP Canine Unit attended to assist officers, however, no individuals were located.
The investigation remains ongoing.
OPP say emergency vehicles are critical public assets, and their misuse directly affects the ability of paramedics to respond to life-threatening situations.
Incidents like this not only disrupt emergency services but also jeopardize patient care and public safety across the wider community.
