Two boys, one 15 and the other 12, have been arrested after a Belleville grocery store was broken into early Tuesday morning.
Police were called to the store on North Front Street at around 3:30 a.m. after a cinder block had been thrown through a window.
A witness told officers what the suspects looked like.
The boys were arrested a short distance away from the store. Police say they had been cutting through business properties and residential backyards in an effort to get away.
Police found some of the stolen items on their escape route.
Both were charged with break, enter, and theft and mischief under $5,000.
They were released to their guardians and are to appear in youth court in October.
The Belleville Police Canine Unit has been called in to assist in ensuring all the items removed from the store are recovered.
