Two people are facing charges for impaired operation on the water.
On the evening of July 26, Prince Edward County OPP and Tyendinaga Police Service responded to a report of a boat washed up on a shoreline on the Bay of Quinte.
Officers located the vessel and discovered the driver sleeping at the helm.
Seventy-year-old Robert Mittelstaedt of Aurora was charged with two counts of operation while impaired.
On Sunday, August 10, Prince Edward County and Quinte West OPP were conducting marine patrol with a Ministry of Natural Resources Conservation Officer on West Lake when they observed open alcohol on a vessel during a stop.
As a result, 63-year-old Russell Reid of Wellington was charged with two counts of operation while impaired and having care and control of a boat underway with an open container of liquor.
Both individuals were released with future court dates in Picton and their driver’s licences were suspended for 90 days.
