UPDATE: The highway has reopened to traffic, just after 6am.
A crash on Highway 401 late Wednesday night caused a mess for travel near Colborne.
Before 11 p.m., emergency crews were called to the Big Apple exit, which is Percy Street/County Road 25.
A multi-vehicle collision occurred in the westbound lanes between Colborne and Grafton.
At last check (4:20 a.m.) the roadway was still closed, with detours set up.
