The Quinte Regional Science and Technology Fair, an annual event that celebrates the creativity and ingenuity of young scientists, has officially concluded another successful year. This event showcases the exceptional talents of students and serves as a vital educational experience that fosters interest in science and technology.
As in past, this year’s fair was made possible through the generous contributions of our sponsors. Their support played a crucial role in ensuring the event ran smoothly. From financial assistance to providing materials and mentorship, our sponsors have demonstrated a commitment to nurturing the next generation of innovators.
“We are incredibly grateful for the support we received this year,” said co-chair Scott Berry. “Our sponsors, allow us to provide this invaluable experience. Their belief in the importance of science education is instrumental in building a brighter future.”
The event featured approximately 75 projects from students across the Quinte region, with participants presenting their work in various scientific disciplines, including biology, chemistry, physics, and engineering. Judges, comprised of local educators and professionals in the scientific community, evaluated the projects based on innovation, research depth, and presentation skills.
In addition to recognizing the hard work of all the students, the fair also included awards for outstanding projects. These were generously sponsored by local businesses and organizations. These awards not only motivate students but also encourage ongoing participation in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) fields.
As the Quinte Regional Science and Technology Fair looks ahead to next year, we invite community members and potential sponsors to join us. Together, we can equip our youth with the tools they need to excel and inspire them to pursue careers in these vital fields. In 2026 the QRSTF will be held at St. Theresa Catholic Secondary School on April 11, 2026. We hope that many students in grades four to twelve in the Quinte area will do a science fair project and share their research with judges, finalists and the public.
