Peterborough OPP arrested a 67-year-old after a dog was shot.
Late Sunday morning, a complainant reported that one of their family dogs had been shot by a neighbour.
Officers spoke with the complainant who advised that one of their dogs had been missing for approximately one week.
Attempts were made by the family to locate the dog but were unsuccessful. The family was led to believe that their dog had been shot and killed by their neighbour and had heard gunshots around the time the dog went missing.
After an investigation, one individual was arrested.
Sixty-seven-year-old Ralph Boake of Havelock-Belmont-Methuen Township is charged with killing or injuring animals.
The accused is to appear in a Peterborough court on September 16.
