The cause of a fire that destroyed a barn in Prince Edward County Tuesday morning remains under investigation.
Prince Edward County Fire and Rescue responded to a barn fire on County Road 49 near Bethesda Road around 9 a.m.
Apparatus and firefighters from Divisions 1, 2 and 4 responded and quickly controlled the fire while preventing the flames from spreading to nearby buildings.
The barn was being used for storage and was a complete loss.
No one was injured.

One lane of County Road 49 was closed in the area of the fire until about 12:30 Tuesday afternoon.
