City of Belleville staff are recommending council continue to run its Automated Speed Enforcement system 24 hours a day.
At a recent meeting, Councillor Kelly Henderson asked for a staff report on if it would be possible to turn the speed cameras off between 11 p.m. and 7 a.m.daily.
A staff report council will see later today says adjusting the system’s hours of operation is possible and could be done with minimal effort and cost.
However, staff believe monitoring traffic 24 hours a day would be best to change long-term driving habits in the city.
