Lennox and Addington OPP have charged a Napanee woman after an attempted kidnapping during a youth soccer game.
On Wednesday, officers were called after a woman smashed a vehicle window, threatened bystanders, and attempted to abduct a 12-year-old youth who was attending a soccer game at Kinsman Field in Napanee.
A parent attending the game intervened and the child was safely removed from the situation before the woman fled on foot.
The accused was known to police, and was found a short distance away.
Alysha Bourdeau, a 31-year-old from Napanee, is charged with uttering threats to cause death, two counts of assault with a weapon, abduction of a person under 14, eight counts of failure to comply with a probation order, and two counts of mischief.
The accused was held in custody pending a bail hearing.
