Assault and forcible confinement charges have been laid against a 37-year-old man following a domestic dispute in Belleville’s east end early Wednesday.
Belleville police responded to a home around 1 a.m. where a woman reported she’d been physically assaulted by a male who then fled the scene.
Officers also learned the suspect was in violation of release order by communicating with the female.
The unidentified Belleville man is charged with assault, forcible confinement and two counts of failure to comply with a release order.
The accused was held for a bail hearing.
