Quinte West Fire and Emergency Services has issued a partial burn ban on open-air burning effective immediately and until further notice.
Under a partial burn ban, burning is restricted to small campfires only. Small campfires will be permitted in designated areas where burn permits are authorized.
This partial burn ban is prompted by ongoing dry conditions in the local area, which increase the potential for the rapid and uncontrollable spread of open-air fires.
Quinte West Fire and Emergency Services will continue to monitor conditions and notify residents once the ban has been lifted.
