The City of Belleville is welcoming a delegation from its sister city – Lahr, Germany.
There will be a welcoming ceremony at Monday’s meeting of council where Belleville Mayor Neil Ellis and Lahr Mayor Markus Ibert will exchange gifts.
It will kick off a week-long visit by 29 delegates including council, staff and community members.
Belleville and Lahr have had a twin-city relationship for over 50 years.
The two communities began their relationship in 1972, when the Canadian military maintained a base in Lahr.
Belleville City Council meets Monday at 4 p.m. at City Hall.
