Lennox-Addington and Frontenac OPP marine units were out on Mazinaw Lake Monday.
They responded to citizens yelling for help from a canoe that had capsized. Luckily, the couple were wearing life jackets and were helped to shore by police.
In an unrelated incident, police noticed a swimmer who decided to swim across from the beach to the rock. The swimmer appeared to be struggling and out of breath, not able to make it across.
Police helped the male into the police boat and took him to shore. Please be aware that when swimming across open water you should have an open water swimming buoy with you for visibility and safety.
