Meanwhile, Malette says local manufacturers just want stability so they can plan their operations with certainty, pointing to local auto parts plants.
“I mean that’s an example of somebody who’s very much affected on a week-by-week basis almost, for production as they’re affected by the tariffs so they’re nervous.”
Despite feeling positive that a good deal is possible, Malette tells Quinte News that no one is setting any time lines on when that might happen.
“If I had the answer to that they’d probably erect a statue of me somewhere. I don’t think anybody knows at this point, I don’t think the president of the United States knows at this point.”
