A search is continuing Monday following two suspected drownings on Stony Lake in Burleigh Falls.
Just after 5 p.m. Sunday, Peterborough OPP, paramedics and fire responded to a report of two individuals who had gone missing in the water at Burleigh Falls.
The individuals were reported to have been swimming in the area when one individual fell in and appeared to be in distress.
Others entered the water to assist, resulting in two individuals being reported as missing.
Officers and Fire Rescue attended and conducted a search of the water as well as the surrounding area.
First responders are continuing with the search today and ask that people stay away from the area to allow those properly trained to conduct a thorough search.
