The Frankford Huskies have announced they have hired Mat Goody as their new head coach.
Born in Brighton and now a resident of Trenton, Goody was a Trenton Sting player from 1999 to 2003 and went on to play professional hockey from 2003 to 2008.
He recently coached Quinte and Greater Kingston AAA teams following being head coach of three Schmaltz Cup finalists in Port Hope from 2015 to 2017.
Later, Goody joined the Napanee Raiders as assistant coach of their Schmaltz Champion team in 2019.
“We feel very fortunate to obtain the services of Mat as our head coach. His coaching experience will be of great assistance to the Huskies,” director of hockey operations for the Huskies, Frank Robinson, says in a release.
The Huskies wished previous coach Pat Shearer good luck in his future endeavours.
