In response to upcoming heat in the forecast, the Quinte West cooling centre at Duncan McDonald Memorial Arena will be open daily beginning on Sunday, Aug. 3, and lasting until Monday, Aug. 11.
The City of Quinte West activates a cooling centre at Duncan McDonald Memorial Arena in Trenton when there are two consecutive days of temperatures of 31 degrees or higher or humidex values of 35 degrees Celsius or higher.
Splash pads are also open daily from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. in both Trenton and Frankford.
