The South East Health Unit (SEHU) has confirmed to Quinte News that it is investigating reports of illness from food consumption at North China Buffet.
In a statement, the health unit says it is continuing to collect information at this time.
On Monday, SEHU ordered the closure of North China Buffet due to a “serious breach” of Ontario’s Food Premises Regulation.
The decision was made after a video circulated online of an individual taking what appeared to be items out of a dumpster and bringing them into the restaurant.
A second individual can then be seen coming out of the dumpster and entering the building.
Patrons of the North China Buffet who are experiencing symptoms of illness are encouraged to contact SEHU at 613-966-5500 ext 677.
