UPDATE: Bancroft OPP say an individual is in custody after an investigation at Limerick Lake.
The shelter in place has now been lifted and the matter is now considered resolved.
There is no longer a threat to the public.

Bancroft OPP are advising residents that it is responding to reports of an armed individual in distress in the area of Limerick Lake and police say the individual could possibly be on water or on land.
Those in the area are asked to shelter in place.
