The City of Belleville’s Glanmore National Historic Site will officially open a new Victorian kitchen exhibit on Tuesday.
Visitors to Glanmore will enjoy an interactive space located on the lower level where the original 1880s kitchen once was.
Work on the exhibit is the result of extensive historical research by Dave Cox, Museum Technician and Danielle McMahon-Jones, Exhibition and Outreach Coordinator.
“While not a restoration, the exhibit space invites you to walk right in, sit at the table, peek in the icebox and get a feel for an 1880s kitchen here at Glanmore,” says McMahon-Jones in the release.
The exhibit features authentic kitchenware and equipment, interpretive panels detailing the original kitchen specifications, details about the servants who lived and worked there, as well as interactive elements.
Glanmore National Historic Site is open Tuesday to Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
