A 36-year-old man faces a charge of assault causing bodily harm after an incident at a Belleville apartment building late Thursday morning.
City police were called to the residence to find a man awake but bleeding from cuts to his head.
Officers learned that previous to their arrival the man had lost consciousness and was treated and released from the hospital.
It turned out that a suspect also lived in the building and he was arrested and held for a bail hearing Friday.
