In response to this week’s forecasted heat, the Quinte West cooling centre at Duncan McDonald Memorial Arena (8 Couch Cres., Trenton) will be open daily until Tuesday.
The cooling centre will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day.
The municipality’s splash pads are also open daily from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. in both Trenton and Frankford.
The City of Quinte West activates a cooling centre at Duncan McDonald Memorial Arena in Trenton when there are two consecutive days of temperatures of 31 degrees or higher or humidex values of 35 degrees Celsius or higher.
