A houseboat lost its tow in waters off Prince Edward County Sunday and was helped to shore by Brighton Marine Rescue.
In a Facebook post, BMR reports it responded south of Nicholson Island where officials saw flares and found the large house on a barge being towed/pushed by undersized boats.
Winds had shifted from the northeast and were pushing the barge toward the centre of the lake.
BMR was asked to complete a tow back to Brighton by Joint Rescue Coordination Centre and it was decided the government docks would be the most suitable place to dock this barge till morning.
Three hours later, BMR entered Presqui’le Bay and brought the vessel to safe harbour.
