New, larger and taller buildings in urban Brighton have council looking at acquiring an Aerial Platform Truck for its fire department.
At Brighton council’s meeting Monday it will be asked to approve allocating $100,000 for the purchase of a pre-owned 2007 Aerial Platform Truck.
It’s estimated the truck has a useful lifespan of seven to ten years. It had previously been owned by the Kamloops BC fire department. A new aerial truck would cost around $3 million and would take two years to receive.
Recently, plans have been approved for a four-storey long-term care home in Brighton as well as a six-storey hotel.
