A demolition date for the former Belleville police station has been set for September 9, 2025.
This is to make way for a 66-unit housing development from Habitat for Humanity Prince Edward-Hastings.
The affordable housing condominium project will feature one-, two- and three-bedroom units designed to create an inclusive variety of availability for the Belleville community.
“This is more than building homes—it’s about shaping the future of our community. It’s a chance to create lasting change where families have the security of homeownership, neighbourhoods flourish, and our local economy thrives. Together, we can turn the dream of a stronger, more inclusive community into reality,” says Hazzem Koudsi, CEO of Habitat for Humanity Prince Edward-Hastings, in a press release.
Belleville Mayor Neil Ellis also commented on the announced demolition date.
“Today is an exciting day for our city,” said Mayor Ellis.
“This highly anticipated project addresses a significant gap within our community, and we are very pleased to
commemorate this important milestone today. On behalf of the council and the City of Belleville, I would like to congratulate the team at Habitat for Humanity on initiating this critical work and we look forward to celebrating its completion.”
The site is located at 93 Dundas Street in Belleville.
