Two people have been charged in connection with separate disturbances in Belleville Saturday night.
Around 10:15 p.m., officers on general patrol in the downtown area observed a group of males involved in a verbal altercation and saw one individual brandishing a knife.
Officers told the male to drop the weapon and he complied and was arrested without further incident.
Thirty-two-year-old Eric Parrinder of Belleville is charged with possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and causing a disturbance.
He was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court in October.
Police say a female resident assaulted two staff members and caused damage to property within the residence.
Further investigation revealed that the female was in violation of a release order and a probation order.
The Belleville resident is charged with two counts of assault, mischief under $5,000, failure to comply with release order and failure to comply with probation order.
She was held for a bail hearing.
