Three people were charged in separate assault incidents in Belleville on the weekend.
Police responded to a disturbance in the city’s west end late Friday night where a female was striking a male in the parking lot.
When officers located the female she allegedly resisted arrest and spat at an officer.
An unidentified 26-year-old Belleville woman is charged with assault, assault a peace officer and resist a peace officer.
She was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court in August.
Early Saturday, police arrested a man in connection with an assault at a city bar.
A patron was struck by a male inside the west-end establishment.
Thirty-one-year-old Jordan Haggett, was arrested and charged with assault.
He was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court in October.
Late Sunday afternoon there was an altercation between two men at an apartment complex in Belleville’s west end.
Police learned one male kicked and punched another man while further investigation revealed that the suspect was in violation of a release order with a condition to remain in the presence of his surety.
As a result, 31-year-old Belleville resident was located, arrested and charged with assault and failure to comply with a release order.
He was held for a bail hearing.
