A Quebec man is facing numerous charges following a drug investigation by Quinte West OPP.
The investigation culminated in the arrest of a man at Quinte Mall Friday around noon.
Quinte West OPP, the OPP Emergency Response Team and Canine Unit, along with Belleville police, were all involved in the arrest which resulted in the seizure of Fentanyl, Xanax, an unauthorized weapon, cash and a forged document.
Dylon Smith-Aweda, age 26 was charged with:
- Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of Weapon
- Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5000 – in Canada
- Traffick in Schedule I substance – Opioid (other than heroin)
- Traffick in Schedule IV substance – Other Drugs
- Possession of a forged document with intent
- Fail to Comply with Probation Order x5
The accused remains in custody and is scheduled to appear in a Belleville court on Wednesday.
