Brighton council is expected to make a big money decision at its meeting Monday.
Council will be asked to approve a tender for just over $50 million to North America Construction Ltd. for the construction of a mechanical wastewater treatment plant.
Brighton has long had problems with ammonia and phosphorus levels being to high in its current sewage treatment system.
The work to build a new plant is expected to take about three years.
Staff will also be asked to design a long-term borrowing plan to pay for its share of the project. The provincial government has committed $35 million to it.
