Prince Edward County OPP have charged multiple drivers with impaired driving as a result of proactive patrols.
On Tuesday, an officer conducted a traffic stop on an all-terrain vehicle that had no visible licence plate.
During the investigation, the officer suspected the individual had been drinking, and an approved roadside alcohol screening device was utilized. The individual was transported to the detachment for further testing.
Tyler Lucas, a 29-year-old from Prince Edward County, was charged with operation while impaired, no licence, no number plate, no off-road vehicle permit, not properly insured, and failure to have required lighted lamps.
Early Friday morning, just after 3:30 a.m., an officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for a Highway Traffic Act violation. During the investigation, the officer suspected the accused had been drinking, and an approved screening device was utilized.
Brandon Allen, a 30-year- old from Belleville, was charged with speeding, operation while impaired, and driving under suspension.
The accused were released from custody and are scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Picton at a later date. Their driver’s licences have been suspended for 90 days, and their vehicles were impounded for seven days.
