The City of Quinte West’s budget book won its second consecutive Government Finance Officers Association Award.
It recognizes the quality of the 2025 budget book as a policy document, financial plan, operations guide and source of important public information.
In a release, the city says the award reflects the city’s commitment to meeting the highest principles of governmental ,and meeting nationally recognized guidelines, for effectively communicating the city’s budget information to the public.
“The city is honoured to receive its second consecutive GFOA award,” says Caleb DenOuden, Director of Finance, in a press release.
“This award is a testament to the dedication, hard work and collaboration of numerous city departments and the staff who contributed to this important city resource.”

Quinte West City Council also approved the revised timeline for the 2026 budget at its meeting on Wednesday.
