OPP are investigating a fatal collision in the community of Carrying Place in Prince Edward County.
On Tuesday, July 15, 2025 at approximately 5:30 p.m., members of the Prince Edward County OPP were dispatched to a collision between a sport utility vehicle and a pedestrian on County Road 3, west of Weese Road.
As a result of the collision, the pedestrian, a 97-year-old from Prince Edward County, was pronounced deceased on scene.
The driver of the SUV was not injured.
County Road 3 was closed between Weese Road and Old Orchard Road for several hours to allow for an OPP Technical Collision Investigation and Reconstruction.
While the road has since reopened, the investigation remains ongoing.

A serious collision between a vehicle and a pedestrian closed the Rednersville Road, formally known as County Road 3 in Prince Edward County for several hours overnight. The collision occurred early Tuesday evening between Old Orchard Road and Weese Road.
The road was closed for an OPP investigation until just after 1 a.m. Wednesday morning.
