Inductees for the 2025 Quinte West Sports Wall of Fame were honoured at a meeting of Quinte West City Council on Wednesday.
The Sports Wall of Fame awards are presented biannually to championship teams, and athletes or sports leaders who have made a lasting impression on sports in the community as part of a Quinte West team or as a resident of Quinte West.
The recipients of this year’s awards are:

- Mark Kennedy
- Brian Meindl
Teams:
- 2023 Lange and Fetter Motors Quinte Royals 16U OBA Provincial Champions
- 2024 Quinte West Golden Hawks OHF U18 A Champions
Kennedy is a former morning show host and sports director for 1270 CJTN AM from 1996 to 2004.
He was recognized for his work as a broadcaster of Trenton Sting Junior A hockey games on the station and setting a new standard for local sports broadcasting in the Quinte West area.
Meindl is a multi-sport athlete and rugby coach. He was a member of an Ontario Hockey Championship team in 1986 and is a rugby coach for Trenton High School.
His teams have made 21 OFSAA appearances, winning 13 OFSAA championships.
