A Belleville man has been arrested and charged with assault after a verbal confrontation with another resident.
Belleville police responded to a call at an apartment in the city’s west end regarding an assault.
Upon further investigation, officers learned that a man spat on the victim after a verbal confrontation and then left the scene.
On Monday, police located, arrested, and charged 40-year-old Michael Elliott of Belleville for assault.
He was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court in October 2025.
