Members of the Prince Edward County OPP have arrested an individual in response to a weapons-related incident in Picton.
On Friday, July 11, 2025 around 5:30 p.m., officers responded to a report of a male running through Picton wielding a knife at members of the public. Officers promptly located the individual and arrested him. As a result, no members of the public were injured.
Paul Johnson, age 35 of Picton, has been charged with:
- Assault with a weapon
- Assault with intent to resist arrest
- Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
- Possession of a a prohibited device
This accused was remanded into custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on July 14, 2025.
