Environment Canada has issued a heat warning for the Quinte region.
Belleville, Quinte West, and Northumberland County are forecast to have daytime highs of 29 to 32 degrees, combined with a humidex of 35 to 40.
Overnight lows are expected to only fall to 19 degrees, offering little relief from the heat.
The heat warning is expected to last until Thursday, with temperatures peaking on Saturday.
Residents are warned to be cautious of heat stroke, and to drink water often.
