Northumberland OPP are investigating an assault in Campbellford that resulted in serious injuries.
On Wednesday, at around 3:20 p.m., police responded to a report from EMS of an assault that had taken place at an apartment building on Front Street South.
The report states that an altercation is believed to have occurred between two people at the property early Wednesday between 1 a.m. and 2 a.m.
The victim sustained serious injuries and was transported to a local hospital by EMS.
Police say the suspect is known to the victim and was not present when emergency services arrived.
The scene was held for OPP Forensic Identification Services to attend and assist with the investigation.
This investigation is ongoing and assisted by the Northumberland OPP Crime Unit. Officers are following lines of inquiry and requesting the public’s help in locating the person in connection to the assault.
