Hastings Prince Edward District School Board is congratulating seven secondary school graduates who are the 2025 recipients of the Governor General’s Academic Medal.
The medal is awarded to the student graduating with the highest average from a high school, college or university.

- Tiia Kari, Bayside Secondary School
- Connor McCrae, Trenton High School
- Maggie Rice, Prince Edward Collegiate Institute
- Austin Williams, Centennial Secondary School
- Sydney Winmill, North Hastings High School
The Governor General’s Academic Medal has recognized the outstanding scholastic achievements of students in Canada since 1873 and has become one of the most prestigious awards that a student in a Canadian educational institution can receive.
Medals are presented on behalf of the Governor General by participating educational institutions, along with personalized certificates signed by the Governor General.
