The interim tag has been removed and Chris Angelo is the City of Quinte West’s new Chief Administrative Officer (CAO), effective Tuesday, July 8.
Following a competitive recruitment process, Quinte West Council has selected Angelo, formerly the city’s Director of Public Works and Environmental Services, to lead the municipal administration.
Angelo has been serving as the city’s interim CAO for the last several months and has more than 30 years of service with the city.
He also holds a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science from Carleton University and a diploma in Civil Engineering Technology from Loyalist College and is a board member with Good Roads (Ontario Good Roads Association), Community Living Quinte West, and Quinte Transit.
As CAO, Angelo leads the city’s Senior Management Team and plays a key role in shaping Quinte West’s future by supporting council’s strategic priorities.
He is also responsible for ensuring the efficient delivery of programs and services while upholding the city’s commitment to service excellence and responsible decision-making.
Earlier this month, Mayor Harrison delegated power to hire the city’s Chief Administrative Officer to Quinte West Council, in accordance with the strong mayor powers.
Angelo’s appointment follows council’s direction at the special council meeting on July 4, 2025.
