Quinte West OPP and Belleville Police Service have been hard at work in a traffic enforcement blitz along Old Highway 2.
The joint effort began on July 3. Since then, 123 charges have been laid against drivers.
The majority of the charges have been for speeding, with a total of 95 charges laid. In addition, eight charges were laid for not having valid documentation and seven charges were for not wearing a seat belt.
Other charges included motor vehicle defects, commercial motor vehicle fines, failing to move over for an emergency vehicle, having cannabis within reach of the driver, or other moving violations.
The enforcement blitz is ongoing, and members of the public may see more officers than usual along Old Highway 2 between RCAF Road and Tyendinaga on the east end of Belleville.
