A Picton man is facing serious charges after attempting to fight the police.
On Thursday, OPP officers responded to a call for a disturbance in Picton, where a person had been assaulted and property damaged.
When officers arrested a suspect, he became combative with police and OPP Emergency Response Team members were called to assist.
Stephen Beaudrie, 39, from Picton was charged with the following offences:
- Assault with a weapon
- Mischief under $5000 – two counts
- Uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm – four counts
- Assaulting a peace officer – four counts
- Fail to comply with probation order
The suspect was held in custody, and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice.
