Northumberland OPP are investigating a collision on Highway 401 in the Municipality of Port Hope.
On Friday July 4, 2025, at approximately 10 p.m., OPP were notified of a collision involving a tractor-trailer and passenger vehicle west of County Road 28 on Hwy 401 west.
As a result, the sole occupant of the passenger vehicle was taken to hospital with serious, but non-life-threatening injuries. The driver of the tractor-trailer, a 31-year-old male, from Brampton, was charged with careless driving.
The highway was partially closed for the investigation, then fully closed around midnight until approximately 3:20 a.m. on July 5, 2025. All lanes were reopened at this time.
