A pedestrian has died after being struck by a car along Highway 2 in east end Belleville.
On Wednesday, just before 11:00 p.m., Belleville Police, Fire and Hastings Quinte Paramedics responded to the stretch of Highway 2 between Mitchell Road and Burns Drive, after receiving a call about a person hit by a car.
Upon arrival, a 36-year-old Belleville man was transported to Belleville General Hospital and pronounced deceased by medical staff.
At the scene, no vehicle was found, while glass and debris were scattered over the road.
Police are asking any members of the public with dash or security camera footage from that time, or who have knowledge of a vehicle with a damaged windshield, to contact them.
