Hastings County has announced it has reached a collective agreement with CUPE Local 1133.
The union represents workers at Hastings Manor.
The new deal is effective for the period of January 1, 2025 to December 31, 2027.
“This agreement reflects a fair and respectful process that supports the needs of both the county and our valued employees,” stated Warden Bob Mullin in a release.
“We appreciate the commitment shown by all parties in reaching a solution that supports continued quality service delivery for the residents in our long-term care homes.”
Among the highlights in the new deal are wage increases of 3.5% annually over three years, enhancements to employee benefits and an increase of $0.10 per hour to shift and weekend premiums.
“This settlement is an example of what can be achieved through open dialogue and strong labor relations,” added Warden Mullin in the release.
“I want to thank everyone at the bargaining table for working together to reach a fair and balanced outcome.”
