Impaired Driving
On June 27, 2025 at 3:26 p.m., Belleville police assisted Prince Edward OPP with a report of a male who appeared extremely intoxicated getting into a vehicle in Rossmore. Belleville police located the suspect vehicle in the area of Highway 62 and County Road 3, which was observed driving erratically. The officer attempted a traffic stop where the driver swerved across the roadway and onto the curb at the intersection of Highway 62 and County Road 28. The driver was observed to be extremely intoxicated and refused to exit the vehicle when being placed under arrest. The driver was transported to the Belleville Police Service, where breath samples were obtained and registered in excess of the legal limit.
As a result of the investigation, Joshua Baldasti, a 36-year-old Colborne resident, was charged with:

Resisting arrest
Baldasti’s licence was suspended for 90 days and his vehicle impounded for seven days. He was later released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court in August 2025.
Single Vehicle Motor Vehicle Collision and Impaired Driving
On June 27, 2025 at 3:10 a.m., Belleville police responded to a single-motor vehicle collision on Bell Blvd. near Cannifton Rd. Officers arrived and found the car had been travelling east in the westbound lanes when it left the roadway, struck a concrete pole and was severely damaged. Witnesses described a female driver fleeing the scene on foot. Approximately 40 minutes after the collision, the driver returned to the scene and was assessed by EMS with minor injuries. The driver was transported to the Belleville Police Service, where breath samples were obtained and registered in excess of the legal limit.
As a result of the investigation, Sara Gallacher, a 31-year-old Belleville resident, was arrested and charged with:

Gallacher’s licence was suspended for 90 days and her vehicle impounded for seven days. She was later released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court in July 2025.
Motor Vehicle Collision and Impaired Driving
On June 27, 2025 at 10:30 p.m., Belleville police responded to a two-vehicle collision in the 200 block of Harmony Rd. Officers attended the area and observed that a pickup truck had been travelling on Harmony Rd, left the road and struck a vehicle parked on the side of the road. Witnesses told police that the driver had left the scene on foot. Officers located the driver approximately 1km from the scene and observed signs of impairment. The driver was transported to the Belleville Police Service, where breath samples were obtained and registered in excess of the legal limit.
As a result of the investigation, Andrew Urch, 36-year-old Corbyville resident, was arrested and charged with:

The driver was also found to be wanted on an arrest warrant from the OPP.
Urch’s licence was suspended for 90 days and his vehicle impounded for seven days. He was later released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court in August 2025. He was also released in relation to his warrant by way of an undertaking.
Traffic Enforcement Leads to Drug Arrest
On June 28, 2025 at 8:18 a.m., officers on general patrol conducted a traffic stop on Station Street. During their investigation, officers learned that the driver of the vehicle was currently suspended from operating a motor vehicle.
A search of the vehicle revealed an amount of suspected crack cocaine along with drug paraphernalia indicative of trafficking. The driver and passenger were both arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking. The driver was additionally charged with:

Two 41-year-old Belleville women, Nicole Whitman and Sari Durrette, were held in custody for a bail hearing.
Breach of probation
On June 29, 2025 at 5 p.m., Belleville police were called to a residence in the city’s west end regarding a domestic dispute. Officers attended and spoke to the parties involved. During their investigation, officers learned that the involved male was breaching the conditions of a previous probation order by communicating with the female party. As a result, police arrested and charged a 32-year-old Belleville resident with failure to comply with probation order. He was held in custody for a bail hearing.
