Belleville police responded to a disturbance in the city’s east end on Thursday morning.
Police say while dispatch was on the line with a caller, they could hear the sound of a man yelling and items being smashed in the background.
When officers arrived, they obtained further information that led to the arrest and charge of a 46-year-old Belleville man for uttering threats to cause bodily harm.
The man was held in custody for a bail hearing.
