Quinte News/Rock 107/Mix 97/CJBQ are thrilled to be partnering in 2025 with Peterborough Musicfest, which launches this coming Saturday.
Serena Ryder, who was raised in Millbrook, just west of Rice Lake, will headline the opening night concert, which in Peterborough Musicfest fashion, is free.
Musicfest Executive Director Tracey Randall tells Quinte News that Ryder first played the event in 2016.
Audio Player“We’re in a four acre park. We figure we had upwards of 15,000 people. It was great, people coming and going all day, all night. It was wonderful because she grew up on our stage.”
Quinte News spoke with Ryder about the hometown show and how it differs from playing Newfoundland or B.C.
Audio Player“I mean it depends, ’cause I’ve played Musicfest I think seven times, maybe more. Hometown shows, I feel like the lead-up to them is more scary than other shows because you do know a lot of people and a lot of people know who you used to be.
