Loyalist College has announced a new program, designed to make post-secondary education easier to access.
Engaging Faculty to Support Prior Learning Assessment and Recognition (PLAR) is a program designed to make programs more accessible, by recognizing the skills and experience students have prior to enrolling.
The program will increase faculty involvement with PLAR, develop practical resources, and increase institutional awareness.
“At Loyalist College, we’re committed to removing barriers and creating flexible, learner-centred pathways to post secondary education,” said Dr. Amanda Baskwill, Loyalist College Senior Vice President Academic and Chief Learning Officer. “Prior Learning Assessment and Recognition plays a vital role in this, ensuring students receive credit for the knowledge and skills they already bring to the table.
The project is being funded through the Ontario Council on Articulation and Transfer.
