Prince Edward County is expanding their efforts to fill potholes on county roads this summer.
During Tuesday’s council meeting, council debated a proposal to expand the road surface spot-repair program, which covers areas not addressed by the current five-year repair plan.
The expansion would involve expanding the current contract with D-Rock Paving, who is currently contracted to carry out the spot repairs.
The original contract with D-Rock Paving was $92,329 without taxes, while the spot-repair program has a total budget of $350,000. Municipal staff recommended expanding the contract with D-Rock Paving for an additional $201,117 of work in order to make use of the remaining budgeted funds.
The motion was passed without debate.
