Occasionally, police have had to respond to local hospitals, especially Belleville General, to deal with patients or visitors threatening violence.
Quinte Health CEO Stacey Daub says each department has its own taskforce on safety and a security expert is available to educate staff.

The organization is also considering updating its overall security system and staff are more often

Daub says staff are very focused on the security issue and are quick to share information about any concerning situations they encounter.
Special focus is being given to emergency departments and the Sills 5 wing at BGH.
